End of the season
Well it's the end of the season for us here in the northeast, It's time to get the boat ready for winter. Yesterday i winterized the fresh water systems, changed the oil and filter in the generator and ran antifreeze thru the cooling system. The boat comes out on friday and then the motors will be prepped for winter ,clean the entire boat and cover with shrinkwrap. I have a list of winter projects i want to work on, the dingy davit hardware has to be upgraded to a better quality stainless, the original S.S i used started to rust. looking into installing WIFI for the laptops,(netflix) for the kids, upgrade the v berth mattress (for the wife) finish the blue LED lighting in the cockpit, and so on! All in all it was a good season for us dispite the grounding on memorial day(uggghh) lesson learned!! until next season,,,,, be safe everyone

grounding!!
Havana Shamrock ran aground on Sat May,31. heading to home port on the south shore of long Island , Just outside Gilgo Beach I was just on the north side of the "G" 35 bouy , apparently it's very common there because Havana barely came to a stop when i spotted the tow boat headed right for us. We where able to limp home to avoid any further damage i took it slow. She was haule dout on thursday and discovered that both props are bent and sent to be straightened .Both shafts are to be x rayed for cracks were supposed to be back on the water in a week. lesson learned!!
